چکیده
Abstract Background The aim of this study is to analyze and compare the clinical results toric intraocular lens (IOL) monofocal IOL implantation when target refraction value -3 diopter (D) in cataract patients with corneal astigmatism > 1.5 diopters (D). Methods We performed a retrospective chart review for 1.5D who underwent surgery their -3D. 100 eyes (100 patients; IOL, 60; 40) were enrolled current study. Near distant uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), corrected VA, spherical equivalent refractive, evaluated before after surgery. Results near UCVA group (0.26 ± 0.33) was significantly better than that (0.48 0.32) ( p = 0.030). (0.38 0.14) also (0.55 0.22) 0.026). Best-corrected 0.710) mean 0.465) did not show significant differences between group. In group, postoperative refractive − 0.80 0.46D 1.50 0.62D, whereas corresponding values 1.65 0.77D 1.45 0.64D; residual lower compared 0.001). There no complications. Conclusions When myopic such as -3D determined power astigmatism, led excellent improvement both UCVA.

AIM To determine the amount of myopic shift in children after cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and to evaluate success in achieving the target refraction. METHODS The children were assigned into three groups depending on age at time of surgery: Group A, 0-1 years old; Group B, 1-7 years old; Group C, 7-18 years old. Multiple regression analysis was used to create a fo...

The authors report a recent complication during the postoperative period of cataract surgery. A patient was submitted to cataract surgery in both eyes with IOL implantation (Sensar) inside the capsular bag. The postoperative period of right eye was uneventful, however, in the left eye the patient noted a dark shadow at the temporal visual field at the first postoperative week. This diagnosis wa...
